A post on Facebook about okra has gone viral.

Jermale Sullivan posted a picture of cajun ranch okra from A&D’s Wings and Things in Avondale. “On Jesus LaMario Christ this is the best okra in Birmingham, Maurice Alabama!”

At first, a lot of people were amused by the added names to Jesus and Birmingham. One person asked, “But why do you have to use our Father in Heaven’s name in vain?”

Then, the post immediately garnered a lot of attention with over 1,000 likes and over 700 shares. One person commented, “Oh that plate definitely came from A&D’s Wings & Things! That okra stupiiidddddddddd goodttttttttt! All of the food is.”

The post created a conversation around the invention of cajun ranch okra, and other restaurants who serve really good okra. A few people mentioned A Train as another place to get a good serving of the popular side dish.

The fried vegetable has always been a southern staple, but adding the ranch dressing with cajun seasoning is definitely an additive that can only come from Birmingham.
